Caregivers’ Group
Many at Wendell United Methodist are caring for a loved one. We recognize how challenging this can be, so we are starting a caregivers’ group. If you are walking alongside someone with a recent diagnosis, a long-term illness, or who is experiencing challenges related to aging and would be interested in more information or in joining us, please reply to Kelley Connolly (kelleywpr@gmail.com) or Beth Griffin (bethgriffin81@gmail.com) ASAP. We have begun meeting once a month on the first Sunday evening around 7:30pm.
Of course, we do not want to forget that our loved ones are experiencing these tough times as well. Depending on abilities, we would like for them to also have a time to gather. We hope to have them come at the same time as the caregivers but meet in a different location within the church. We are looking for someone to facilitate their meeting to spark stimulating conversation or even games. Please reach out if you would like to sit with our loved ones for an hour to help.
Having a place to share feelings and experiences, to laugh or cry together, and to support one another is beneficial for caregivers and receivers alike. We hope all who need such support will feel comfortable joining us.
Thank you,
Kelley Connolly, CPRP
